REG women have claimed the league championship, following their monumental 71-63 victory over APR in Friday evening's Game 4 of the best-of-seven final series to notch up a 4-0 sweep.
Destiney Philoxy Promise showed the way for Julian Martinez's side, chipping in a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, whilst Kristina Morgan King also had a double-double with a game-high 16 rebounds and 12 points.
Odile Tetero, who won her third successive league title, added 12 points, while Rosine Micomyiza and Linda Nandy Uwitonze had 10 points apiece.
APR were on the right track in the first two quarters, rounding them off with a three-point advantage, but they were outplayed in the third quarter as they trailed 49-46 at the end of it.
The two sides went toe-to-toe early in the fourth quarter, though Charles Mushumba's women crumbled in the last four minutes. REG won Game 4 with an eight-point lead to win the league title they had previously won in 2022.
