Police will play against APR in Rwanda's Peace Cup semi-finals after the latter eliminated Gasogi United on a 1-0 aggregate score.

The reigning champions reached the semi-finals after knocking out AS Kigali in the quarter-finals on a 4-3 overall victory, following a 2-2 stalemate in the second leg on Wednesday evening.

Mandela Achraf's close-range strike from a loose ball and Djibril Akuki's header cancelled out Haruna Niyonzima's spectacular goal directly from a corner and put Vincent Mashami's outfit ahead, but a penalty from Jospin Nshimirimana saw the game end in a 2-2 draw.

The draw fired Police into the semi-finals, thanks to their 2-1 monumental triumph in the first leg.

APR set up a semi-final clash with the Rwanda National Police-owned side, following their 0-0 deadlock against Gasogi United on Wednesday night.

Gasogi United President Charles Kakooza Nkuriza expressed his displeasure with the referee during the post-match interview, accusing him of causing Gasogi United to be knocked out.

"APR didn't eliminate us; the referee did," said Kakooza Nkuriza.

Ramadhan Niyibizi had spearheaded Darko Novic's team to a 1-0 win in the first leg, which propelled them to the semi-finals.
