REG have registered their third successive victory in the Rwanda Basketball League after beating Orion 72-65 on Monday evening, 3 February, at Petit Stade.
Ogoh Odaudu's men were resolute in the first two quarters, winning 19-12 and 22-20 to take a nine-point advantage to the half-time break.
Nonetheless, Orion launched a comeback in the third quarter and outsmarted REG 22-8 to snatch a 54-49 lead before heading into the final quarter.
REG bounced back in the fourth quarter, outscoring Orion 23-11 to round off the tense showdown with a seven-point lead and extend their unbeaten streak to three games.
Jean Jacques Boissy of REG scored the most points, with a game-high 23 points, six rebounds, and four assists.
Former REG player Engelbert Belleck Bell was Orion's leading scorer as the Cameroonian contributed 20 points and seven rebounds. Kennedy Garba added a double-double, with 16 points and a game-best 25 rebounds.
REG will return to league action on 7 February, taking on UGB at LDK Gymnasium.
